I'm extremely honored to annonuce that I will be doing a tag set with my beautiful wife at Mamby 2015. This is a huge deal for us as I asked her out for the first time at a Mamby party when it was at Moonshine. Edie and I have been doing our monthly party at East Room for about 5 months now and we have packed it out each time. We stick to a strict format showcasing House Music and Disco in all styles both old and new. Expect to hear the same during our set at Mamby. Check the line up on this one. It's pure quality both days.
Last year I was blessed with the "Best DJ" award from the first Chicago Nightlife Awards and it was true honor. The awards are coming back for a second year and being that we live in a city with so much great talent I did not enter the competition but decided to pass along the title to another great Chicago DJ. I'm excited to announce that I will be presenting the "Best DJ" award for 2015 as well as participating on the committee for the event. I encourage all of you to take a few minutes and cast your votes for 2015. The first round which consisted of the nominations has already happened and now each category shows the top 15 that you get to choose from. Click the image to be transferred to the voting page.
SoundCloud can get weird about DJ mixes so I have decided to move the series over to MixCloud. It is a great time to revisit the series if you have not done so in a while. I'm still very proud of all of the mixes I have done with the series and have a special new Trap to the Future mix in the works.
Was honored to be listed as 65 out of 100 in the nations top 100 DJs. Shouts to all of my Chicago family including Trentino who was listed as number 6. Congrats to the homey Morse Code who was listed as number 1. I also have to mention my big brother DJ Godfather who is listed at number 36. These DJ lists are always weird and always seem to piss people off. I see some nice diversity in the list but there are definite placements that made me scratch my head? It comes down to subjectiveness and the individual who created the list so it is definitely not an end all be all. With that said, it is an honor to be listed. You can check the rest of the list HERE.
I'm proud to announce my new project with my brother PHNM called Light.Em.Up. We are a DJ duo that has an app that goes along with our project. Users download the app and use it during our shows. Every 20 minutes we have a breakdown where we tell the crowd to "Light Em Up". At that time they get into the app and select a color that corresponds to a specific genre of Dance Music. They then hold up their phones showing the color of their choice and at the end of the countdown the color that dominates in the crowd dictates the genre that we go into next in our set. The fans get to pick the direction and hear the styles of music that they want. PHNM and I are both known for being diverse DJs that can rock any crowd and we thought it would be fun to include the audience and make them a part of the show.
I don't know about you, but I'm stoked. This is my favorite local music festival due to the variety of music and the location. Congrats to the people who throw the event for their 5th year of making people happy with great music!
My set is Sunday on the 708 Stage from 6:45 - 7:45. I will have merch for sale at the event as well as giving some out during my set. Got another run of my classic Zebo shirt along with my butterfly knife zebo shirt. My necklaces will be for sale at the event as well!
I have been working on a new project with my brother DJ Godfather as well as the legendary vocalist, MC Flipside. Our first original tune, Juicy Fruit has just been released on Beatport. Get over there, peep it out, and show your boys some love with purchase if you are feeling it.
Check out the release HERE.
My new "Zebo Got Your Back" necklace is available for purchase. There are 2 reasons why I've got your back. 1 - My Zebo charm sits on the back of your neck. 2 - The Butterfly Knife opens and closes and has a 1.75" which can be used to protect yourself if need be. The necklaces come in gold and antique brass. Please contact me if you would like to order as it is not on my Merch page. Each necklace is $50 + Shipping, or you can pick up if you are in Chicago.
After a long needed change I'm happy to announce I finally have my new site up and running. A huge shout out to my man DJ THNDR who helped me set this up. It was long overdue.
I'm happy to announce I won "Best DJ" for the first annual Chicago Nightlife Awards that was held at Concord Music Hall on Tuesday, April 1st. It was a huge honor to be nominated among 4 other Chicago greats who all deserved to be up there. I promise to keep on bringing the quality to our great city. #CHIorDIE
