Manila (Ewan Pearson Remix)
I first heard this remix on a graphic art dvd that I bought at the MCA store. The video was a nice mix of real life vs cartoon world. Sort of reminded be a little bit of that old Cool Kids video... I think it was for black mags??? Anyway, this is one of those dance tracks that always works on the floor. The production is on point and the vocal works well with the vibe.

Monday Morning Fun
I just got back from another fun evening at Sonotheque for the Uprising night that takes place every Sunday night. It is a reggae night that is ran by Chicago's Papa G and is always an amazing time! I am out there every first and third Sunday of the month. If you are in the area, then you should really check it out.
In the spirit of the night, I am going to give you one of my most cherished female Reggae songs, "Nice and Easy." The actual track was produced by the legendary Lee "Scratch" Perry.

Get Get Down

Our Wednesday night party is gaining some serious momentum. This week our guests are Michael Serafini from Gramophone Records here in Chicago as well as our boy Konsept who does Bo' Selecta @ evilOlive on Saturday nights and Soviet Panda from the party TOO MUCH LOVE in Minneapolis. Bridging the gap between old and new house and disco in all of their various forms.

Grown Mix Volume 2

Here is the second installment of my "Grown Mix" series. Most of the cuts are soul and funk tracks that were sampled into hip hop tracks... and then a few randoms that fit the culture of the mix.

Hold You Down

I played this track a few times this past weekend as I had forgotten about it. Shame on me. This is beyond a quality track. Why is the Alchemist such a monster on the beat production? Always and forever.
